Model Description: The Generation 7 Handpan by NovaPans Introducing the Generation 7 Handpan by NovaPans Handpans. The Generation 7, also known as our "Gen 7" or "Sound Healing Handpan" was first introduced to the NovaPans Store in 2020 and has since swooped the Sound Healing Communities off their feet. People struggle to believe that a handpan, nevermind at the price that we make them, can have a sustain that is just that amount longer than others which makes it so majestic, yet warm and rich-sounding. In fact, many first-time buyers end up purchasing even a second or third Generation 7 Handpan to add to their collection! We have received such high appraisal for the Gen 7s from sound healers, sound journey and meditation ceremonialists, and people who just want to take themselves on their own sound-induced meditation or calming effects of the gentle yet fully space-holding frequencies of the Gen 7.Are you looking for a handpan which replicates that resonant yet angellic handpan sound you always hear in those famous handpan videos online? Are you looking for something that really just sounds like you’re hosting a sound ceremony yourself when you play it? If so, then the Generation 7 Handpans are definitely for you.

Color Description: Crimson

Each of our Generation 7 raw natural colors, the Gold, Gold (Polished), Gold (Striped), Silver, Silver (Polished), and the Crimson are the result of different heat intensities applied to the handpan shells during handpan production. Hydro-Dipped Handpans are slightly different in that they are the raw natural handpan color then masked with a thin layer of PVA offering a greater selection of design options for Generation 7s only. Do note that handpans that are their raw natural color do guarantee a greater sustain over one that has been Hydro-Dipped as the additional layer can create a subtle but present dampening of the original sustain of the Generation 7s. Nonetheless, the sustain on all Generation 7s of all colors is still nothing short of exceptional.

Although sometimes a difficult color to perfect, the Crimson Red, also sometimes described as being Copper-Red, is one that evokes invitation and story-telling if you like, its somewhat Earthy-like color and moderate yet natural appearance take most by surprise once you begin to play it.

You will notice that the Generation 7s come in the largest selection of handpan keys out of all our handpans. This all comes down because the Generation 7s are made out of stainless steel which is metal that has greater control and stability over its shaping, allowing us to reach notes as low as F2 on the scale!

Frequencies Description: (432hz, 440hz, or 444hz)

You may have heard of the 432hz fequency, and if so, then you'll know that most instruments today are tuned to the 440hz and that the 432hz is rather the frequency tuning of nature or otherwise known as "The Miracle Frequency". Some sceptics claim there to be no difference but like colors on a handpan, frequencies are just as important, in fact, we'd argue even moreso. The 444hz handpan is a slightly newer experimental scale. All frequencies have their own healing properties which have richer explanations online.

Dimensions: 24 X 57 cm / 9.4 X 22.4 inches (height x diameter)

Our handpans are the most common size of handpan (not too tall or too wide) but fit nicely and rest comfortably on the lap of an average sized grown adult. Children or smaller individuals might need assistance with someone just holding the handpan while they are sitting on a chair or just simply put a cushion on the floor and play it like that without assistance.

Steel: Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel handpans are considered an upgrade to traditional Nitride Steel Handpans (which were the norm from 2000-2020). Stainless Steel has less maleability or in other words is "stronger" which is the very reason why on our Generation 7s the notes are a lot more sustained than our other models. In fact, the sustain of our stainless steel handpans ever surpasses that of competing models as you'll hear in a non-bias handpan review here (listen to the NovaPans Generation 7 starts at 7:06 and just how out-of-this-world it sounds and the many complementing comments to support it).

Bag: Soft Bag included

The NovaPans Handpan Soft Bag is a thin fabric back-pack style bag that is light to carry and easy to quickly and efficiently place your handpan inside and transport with you on any casual small or moderate trip not expecting much handling. Hardcases are sold separately and are more ideal for rigorous traveling such as by car, plane, bus etc. If you are traveling with a soft bag only, there is no harm in adding some additional layers of clothes over at least the note-specific parts of your handpan for added protection.
